SUMMARY:Step For Darfur this March!
DESCRIPTION:You’re Invited to… Step For Darfur! \nWalk 25\, 50\, or 100 Miles – in March 2025!\nTake on our walking challenge this March to provide emergency food for starving children in the remote villages of Darfur\, Sudan. Malnutrition has spread across the whole of Darfur. It is now the epicentre of the world’s worst hunger crisis\, (UN General Assembly\, September 2024). Together we can help. \nWill you help us raise enough funds for 300 Kids Kitchen Kits this March?\n \nKids for Kids has beaten the odds to deliver life-saving aid to the forgotten communities of Darfur. So far we have reached 49 of our 110 villages – that is 11\,276 children with essential food. Our Kids Kitchen Kits provide essential protein and nutrients – lentils\, ground nuts\, cooking oil\, fruits\, protein powder made from dried meat – and give little ones under five years old necessary sustenance.  \nIf just 50 people ‘Step for Darfur’ and raise £150 each\, we will reach our goal.\nEvery penny counts – no matter how little or much you can raise! One Kids Kitchen Kit costs only £25 and makes a world of difference to a child who is waking up hungry every day. By setting a ‘Step for Darfur’ Walking Goal and raising funds\, we can make a massive impact! \n \nHow To Step for Darfur: \n\nRegister on JustGiving today with your Step for Darfur Walking Goal – 25\, 50 or 100 miles – every mile counts this March towards more Kids Kitchen Kits! Send us a link to your JustGiving page and we will send you a free T-shirt!\nStart Fundraising. Let friends and family know what an incredible challenge you are taking on and ask for their support to reach your goal.  Start with a goal of £150….and then exceed it! The top three fundraisers will receive a special prize!\nStep for Darfur Begins on March 1st! Put your walking shoes on and start the challenge.\n\nWalking is More Fun with Friends!\n \nWhy not walk with your Mum or Best Friend? You can fundraise with your class at school – or get a group together at work for a morning walking club. This is a great chance to get outside\, explore new areas and green spaces\, and have a lot of fun with friends! Don’t forget to track your miles walked with the ‘Health’ or ‘Strava’ Apps on your phone! Make sure to take some photos and tag us @kidsforkidsdarfur on Instagram or join our Facebook group for support! \nAny questions? Email us at contact@kidsforkids.org.uk. \nWe can help you set up your JustGiving page\, provide fundraising tips\, or anything else you might need. And please do invite your friends and family to get involved. We look forward to Stepping for Darfur with you this March! \nOur youngest participant so far is six years old and our most inspiring is 93! SUMMARY:Fly Fishing for Emergency Funds!
DESCRIPTION:This year’s annual Kids for Kids’ Executive Fly Fishing Day will take place at Park Lake\, Albury on Saturday 12th October. Purchase your ticket now! \nEvery single pound profit will help us provide basic essentials to children who are in desperate need. The situation in Darfur has exacerbated an already dire situation where shortages across the country have led to many families struggling to feed their children. In Darfur\, conditions were already worse than we have ever known. Emergency funding is essential to help provide for thousands of families in desperate need of food\, water\, shelter and medical care. \nBy joining us on our fishing day out this year\, you can help transform the lives of families in great need. Not to mention\, enjoy a magnificent day at Park Lake\, which is utterly beautiful – and ours for the day! The Duke of Northumberland’s private lake provides the perfect day out for the family\, or to entertain your clients – beginners and experience fisherman alike are welcome! \nThe secluded lake will be stocked with trout and if you have never tasted trout straight from the water to your plate then you have no idea how delicious it is.   Of course\, you will have to catch it first but we will provide people to help you! \nDelicious refreshments will be provided throughout the day. \n  \nTicket Options: \nFull Day tickets  (9.30am to dusk) @ £150 each (min. donation)  to include breakfast\, morning coffee & home made cakes\,  lunch with wine and beer\, and finally afternoon tea (more home made cakes!).  All drinks available throughout. \nAM session only  (9.30 am to 12:30pm\, including lunch) @ £85 each (min. donation) to include breakfast\, morning coffee & home made cakes and lunch with wine and beer.  All drinks available throughout. \nPM session only (12.30 pm lunch ’til dusk) @ 85 each (min. donation) to include lunch with wine and beer\, and afternoon tea with home made cakes. All drinks available throughout. \nThe first fish you catch will be yours to keep! There will be a small charge for any additional fish you wish to take home. \n“I hesitate to ask\, but if you would like to add something extra as an additional donation it would really help. Out of the headlines\, millions of families are displaced in Sudan\, the Rapid Support Force is using fire as a means of weaponry\, whole villages are being burnt to the ground. Children are on the brink of starvation. The situation is absolutely heart-breaking\, and we are desperate for support so we can help families survive and re-build their lives as soon as it is safe to do so. An extra donations would really help us cover our costs and save more children’s lives – they are desperate for emergency food.“ – Patricia Parker OBE Founder. \nN.B. Children (minimum age 10)  need to be accompanied by a fully paying adult.   Because of the limit of space on the banks children also have to be full price.  Sunglasses or glasses\, and hats ideally with a peak\, must be worn by everyone. Health and safety is our first concern but you are advised that you fish at your own risk.\n \n  \nDownload full details of the Fly Fishing Day on 12th October 2024 here. \n  \nTo join us for our Fly Fishing Day this year\, please book your tickets here! \n  \n  \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\nCheck out our Fly Fishing Event in the press: \n\n\n\n\n\n\nOnline coverage\n\n\nBrit Events\nEagle Radio\nEventBrite\nFamilies Surrey West\nGumtree\n\n\nSurrey Live\nThe Best Of\nWhere Can We Go \nSurrey Live Video\nSurrey Live Gallery\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCoverage in Print\n\n\nSurrey Life Magazine\nDiplomat Magazine\n Life Magazine – Surrey and Berkshire Editions\n\n\n\n  \nCancellation Policy: Please note we cannot give refunds for event tickets unless the event is cancelled by us. \nCover photograph by Darren Pepe\, Surrey Life.

There will be a waystation at ‘The Viewpoint’ where we can relax\, enjoy the view and sample the drinks and cake on offer – yum! We will finish at this same point to confirm we have safely completed the route. \nHow do I sign up?\nWe’re asking for a minimum donation of just £10 entry per adult walker and would love you to raise a minimum of £50 sponsorship if possible. \nChildren  under 16 are more than welcome to join too and will be free! \nBook your spot here for £10 (min. donation). \nHow can I raise sponsorship?\nWe recommend setting up an online sponsorship page with JustGiving. \nClick on the link and then ‘Start Fundraising’ to set up your own JustGiving page for sponsorship – RotaWalk’24 4 Mile Fundraising Walk – in Fancy Dress! – JustGiving \nShare your sponsorship page with friends and family so we can get stepping in the right direction to raise as many funds as we can this year! \nLook at the Fun we had in 2021 – Come and Join us!\nFind out about the fun and games we had on the RotaWalk’21 here and book your place to join us on 28th April 2024 ! \nWe cannot wait to Step with you for Sudan! \n  \n

SUMMARY:Arctic Wilderness Challenge\, 22-26 January 2021
DESCRIPTION:A once in a lifetime adventure through the pristine landscape of Swedish Lapland in the Arctic Circle! \nGet set for an action-packed charity challenge in what is often described as ‘Europe’s Last Wilderness’.  This Arctic Wilderness charity challenge will be a real test of your endurance\, where you are in charge of food\, digs and feeding your dogs. The challenge is basic with self-sufficient lodgings\, unpredictable weather conditions as well as looking after your team of dogs! \nIt is a mix of survival techniques and learning how to live like the Saami people. Meet your companions and the Classic Challenge Tour Manager and UK Doctor that will accompany you throughout the trip in London before flying to Kiruna\, the northernmost town in Sweden in the province of Lapland.  You will travel by dog sled to different beautiful locations\, and have a chance of seeing reindeer along the way. \nThe route includes a mixture of trails from tundra lowlands to high mountain areas and dense forests and frozen lakes. The first day you will travel 30-35km by dog sled\, the second day a circular route of 40-45km past glacial lakes and open swamp areas\, and 40-45km on the third day through snow covered mountains.  Each night will be spent in wilderness base camps – and keep your eyes peeled for the famous Northern Lights!  View the full itinerary here. \n \n  \nThis is a fantastic chance to help children in Darfur\, whilst taking on a totally different and extremely challenging excursion – making new friends as you face the cold weather together.  Sign up solo or as a group.  Group sizes range from 8-15 people\, so sign up soon to get your spot! \nThe Registration Fee for this challenge is £299 and minimum sponsorship is £2500 for Kids for Kids. This may seem like a lot but includes: Flights to/ from Sweden\, accommodation (camps\, huts & lodges)\, transfers\, full medical support\, experienced guides and dog sledding team\, specialist kit (leather mitts\, Arctic all-in-one and Arctic boots)\, water and meals. \nAdditionally\, we would be more than happy to help you come up with fundraising ideas\, send you collection tins\, stickers\, and other Kids for Kids promotional materials that will make this goal much easier to accomplish! Our supporters often hold events as a way of raising funds instead of relying solely on sponsorship from family and friends.  Why not hold a pub quiz night\, silent disco\, or bake sale?!  Please get in touch at contact@kidsforkids.org.uk with any questions. \nTo learn more about this challenge and see the full itinerary visit Classic Challenge’s Website! \n  \n“I really want to thank Classic Challenge for all the help and organisation that you did for my participation in the 2017 Arctic Dog Sledding Challenge. The challenge went ahead and it turned out to be the most amazing five days!”

Book now as I am sure it will sell out quickly!  Who wouldn’t want to go fishing this year! \nWe really are fishing for goats (well\, not literally!)  – goats that will give their valuable milk for children who are hungry in Darfur!  We need as many as we can get.  The need is huge.  Do join us\, it’s a real treat.  Park Lake is utterly beautiful\, and ours for the day.   The secluded lake will be stocked with rainbow trout and if you have never tasted trout straight from the water to your plate than you have no idea how delicious it is.   Of course\, you will have to catch it first! \n  \nPlaces for the Full Day and Half-day (AM or PM) sessions are now available to Book Online or by completing our Order Form.  Tickets are limited to ensure everyone has enough space on the banks to really enjoy fishing as it should be enjoyed – so do book early!  Enjoy an exclusive day of fly fishing on the Duke of Northumberland’s private lake in Surrey.  A special day for experienced fishermen and total beginners alike!  Tuition by qualified trainers (if needed) for beginners along with all tackle will be provided.  Delicious refreshments as listed below will provided throughout the day. \n  \nTicket Options: \nFull Day tickets  (9.30am to dusk) @ £120 each (min. donation)  to include breakfast\, morning coffee & home made cakes\,  lunch with wine and beer\, and finally afternoon tea (more home made cakes!).  All drinks available throughout. \nAM session only  (9.30 am to 12:30pm\, including lunch) @ £75 each (min. donation) to include breakfast\, morning coffee & home made cakes and lunch with wine and beer.  All drinks available throughout. \nPM session only  (12.30 pm lunch ’til dusk) @ £75 each (min. donation) to include lunch with wine and beer\, afternoon tea with home made cakes.  All drinks available throughout. \n“I hesitate to ask\, but if you would like to add something extra as an additional donation it would really help.  Without our events earlier this year – especially the Ambassadors’ Ball – our donations have fallen just when we are needed most\, but I know life has not been easy for anyone this year.”  Patricia Parker MBE Founder. \nN.B. Children (minimum age 10)  need to be accompanied by a fully paying adult.   Because of the limit of space on the banks children also have to be full price.  Sunglasses or glasses\, and hats ideally with a peek\, must be worn by everyone. \nHealth and safety is our first concern but you are advised that you fish at your own risk.\n \n  \n\nCheck out our 2019 Fly Fishing Event in the press to get excited for this year: \n\n\n\n\n\n\nOnline coverage\n\n\nBrit Events\nEagle Radio\nEventBrite\nFamilies Surrey West\nGumtree\n\n\nSurrey Live\nThe Best Of\nWhere Can We Go \nSurrey Live Video\nSurrey Live Gallery\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCoverage in Print\n\n\nSurrey Life Magazine\nDiplomat Magazine\n Life Magazine – Surrey and Berkshire Editions\n\n\n\n  \nCancellation Policy: Please note we cannot give refunds for event tickets unless the event is cancelled by us. \nCover photograph by Darren Pepe\, Surrey Life.
