Ambassadors’ Ball Raises Vital Funds to Feed Starving Children in Darfur

What a wonderful time we had at our 2025 Ambassadors’ Ball!  On Saturday 7th June, at the Hyatt Regency Churchill Hotel in Mayfair, London, friends of Kids for Kids came together to raise funds for Kitchen Kits and Emergency Aid items for starving children in Darfur.  We were so pleased to welcome longtime friends and new supporters alike to join us for an evening of delicious food and drink, important speeches, fundraising games with phenomenal prizes and of course much laughter and dancing to round off the evening!

After all the expenses, we can announce that the profit raised from this year’s Ball is an incredible £24,313.38. This will go to our Emergency Appeal, providing Kids Kitchen Kits to help families in Darfur who are waking up hungry every day.

If you couldn’t join us for the Ball this year, we already have a 2026 date for your calendars! And you don’t want to miss out on celebrating our 25th Anniversary at our Ambassadors’ Ball on 6th June 2026.

And what an evening we had! Chapel Down and IDS provided us with gorgeous Sparkling Wines to start of the night. We welcomed guests who all looked stunning in ballgowns and tuxedos. What a dapper bunch!

Jermaine Chandra provided his photography skills free of charge, setting up a portrait studio that was a huge hit. Guests had their photos taken by the professionals and came away with prints to take home at the end of the night, with Jermaine donating a kind 10% of proceeds to Kids for Kids. You can still purchase your portrait by visiting the Ambassadors’ Ball Portrait Gallery and entering your Email and Access Code: 250607AB.

The team at the Hyatt Churchill was top tier and brough out a fantastic three-course meal, of course keeping our wine glasses filled throughout! The food was exquisite as always. Our Table Auction had such special prizes including hand-iced biscuits from the brilliant Biscuiteers and ever so generously donated by Karen Jankel.

The Live Auction featured a Goat Skin Leather Apron from Billy Tannery, and Ambersouk created an original freshwater cultured pearl and coral necklace especially for the Ambassadors’ Ball. Tickets to Paddington the Musical in November and tea with the daughter of Paddington’s Author really got the bidding going!  A beautiful Lesley Fotherby Oil Painting fantastically donated by Chris Beetles Gallery was quite rightly fought over. And a three-day weekend away in Albania donated by Art & Tourism Development Group was quickly snatched up.

The Silent Auction featured many fabulous prizes including Lunch at the House of Lords with Baroness Chalker which raised a fantastic £500. Caroline and Alan Jenkins donated a Tour and Cream Tea at Lords Cricket Ground and Ambriel Vineyard are welcoming two people to Sussex for a Tour and Tasting this summer. Eager bidders got their hands on tea at the Langham courtesy of Brian Davis, a Ginger Pig Sausage Tasting Box, and many many more!

The Auctions together made over £10,000 – can you imagine just how many lives this will help us change in these desperate times? It costs just £25 for a Kids Kitchen Kit which provides children with provisions essential to survival – protein and nutrients in the form of lentils, pulses, ground nuts, powdered meat. 400 Kids Kitchen Kits can be provided with this amount, all thanks to you. Just think what a difference this will make for Children who are facing starvation.

The Raffle had some phenomenal prizes this year – including Lunch for two at Claridge’s! A Family Ticket to see Six The Musical, the newest cookbook “Comfort” from Ottolenghi, and tickets to three nights performances at the Marylebone Music Festival taking place the 16-22nd June!  Margaret Howell donated a stunning silk scarf and Bronnley provided first-class soaps and hand creams for one lucky winner. The Raffle was truly a blast this year and our winners were ecstatic! Thank you all.

Your generosity through donating prizes, wines, advertising in the programme, volunteering on the night and attending the Ball has helped us raise essential funds that will help children who are surviving on just one scant meal a day.  We cannot thank you enough for all that your contributions have helped us to raise.

Oh, and if you didn’t win a prize… We have one last chance for you. Our online auction has begun for a One-Month membership, including classes, at the exclusive AMP Fitness in Marylebone. Check out the details here!  Every bid helps us provide more urgent aid.
