Dame Joanna Lumley is determined to help children in Darfur with your help

Appalling violence in Darfur, Sudan, is continuing in El Fasher, the regional capital of North Darfur. Dame Joanna Lumley DBE FRGS and friends are determined to help children struggling to survive the atrocities.  Patricia Parker OBE, founder of Kids for Kids, said “All children in Darfur are starving.  This huge pledge means that all donations during December will be doubled, thanks to the generosity of Joanna – who is our Patron, and other generous friends”.   Kids for Kids remains the only organisation helping children living in remote villages in Darfur.

We must act now. No child should starve in the 21^st century

As Christmas approaches, families in Darfur are facing the darkest winter in living memory. Conflict has devastated communities, forcing children into hunger, fear and uncertainty. Darfur has been described as ‘the epicentre of human suffering in the world’ by Tom Fletcher, UN Relief Chief. With thousands of people still trapped in El Fasher without food, water and medical assistance, those fleeing to neighbouring villages are fleeing with nothing. Unaccompanied children, who bear the traumas of war, are arriving at displacement camps and surrounding villages, vulnerable and weak. Without urgent help, many will not survive.

Kids for Kids is working tirelessly through local volunteers to get life-saving essentials to the hardest-hit families.

• £25 provides a Kids Kitchen Kit – immediate food for families with young children.
• £15 supplies a Sack of Emergency Seeds for food now and crops next season.
• £50 provides a goat and its valuable milk to a child who has not had protein for months 

Donate a Kids Kitchen Kit now and two will reach struggling mothers unable to feed their children. Donate one sack of Emergency Seeds and two sacks will help families replant their fields for next year.  And one Goat becomes two!
