Fly Fishing Feeds Almost 100 Families!

The 2025 Kids for Kids Fly Fishing Day has raised £2,340 in profit, to help Children in Darfur!

On Saturday 11th October, a group of over 40 people headed down to the gorgeous Park Lake in Albury near Guildford to go Fly-Fishing – for emergency funds!

Our fantastic volunteers, and the Duke of Northumberland who loaned us the use of his private lake, made it possible for us to raise £2,340 in profit which will go directly to providing food for children in Darfur. With this wonderful sum we are able to provide 94 Kids Kitchen Kits to families with children aged, five and under – the most at risk of malnutrition and starvation due to the ongoing conflict.

We had a fabulous time out on the lake on Saturday – and especially enjoyed the wonderful food that our volunteers brought! Incredible Lasagne for lunch along with lots of delicious cakes and cookies for afternoon tea kept our fishermen and women going. And…. lots of people caught fish! The largest catch of the day weighed an impressive 11lbs.

This has been an incredibly difficult year in Sudan, with the UN calling it one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises of the 21st century.

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us on Saturday, cooked delicious food for the group, and to those of you that weren’t able to join but made a donation anyways. We couldn’t be more grateful!

Check out our next event – our Candlelit Christmas Concert – on 4th December in London. Special guest, Dame Joanna Lumley!
