Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our Beginner Salsa Class in Purley on Thames on Friday 28th June 2024.
Local Salsa tutors, Russell Morse and his wife Hella, lead the class brilliantly and started by showing us all some basic salsa steps, building it up until we had quite a routine going!
They then moved on to demonstrate some Merengue moves, whilst we all did our best to keep up! This was followed by a freestyle session where we demonstrated our new-found skills!!
There was music, dancing, drinks and nibbles – and lots of FUN!
Here are some of the pictures, showing a snapshot of the fun we had on the night..!
But the best bit? Together we managed to raise over £318 for the emergency fund for the children of Darfur. The forgotten children of Darfur are suffering horrendously amidst the ongoing fighting and desperate for all the help we can give them right now.
Away from the headlines, towns and cities in Sudan are destroyed, homes flattened, families are displaced, desperately struggling to feed their children.
But this money will go towards providing emergency help – sacks of food so mothers in Darfur can feed their hungry children, veterinary drugs so our life-saving Goats can be kept healthy and provide protein-rich milk, mosquito nets to protect families from malaria and hand pump repair kits so clean water can flow again – whatever we can provide, whenever we can, just as soon as it is safe to do so. We would never put any of our team in danger. We are determined to provide the basics so people can return and rebuild their homes.
If you would like to donate a little more to help us, we would be so grateful.
Please donate here to our Emergency Appeal to help us help children survive and rebuild their lives.
