It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and supporter, Prunella Scales.
Prunella introduced her late husband, Timothy West CBE, to Kids for Kids nearly twenty years ago, beginning a friendship that has meant so much to us all. After that introduction, Timothy became a regular Reader at our Candlelit Christmas Concert, with Prunella faithfully by his side each year. We will miss her deeply this Christmas. She so loved singing the carols, and together they became devoted champions of our work, generously lending their voices, time, and compassion to help change the lives of children in the most remote villages of Darfur, Sudan.
Prunella’s warmth, humour, and generosity touched everyone who met her. Her belief in the power of kindness has helped transform countless lives. We will always be deeply grateful for her dedication and the love she showed to Kids for Kids.
Our hearts go out to her family, Sam, Joseph and Juliet West, at this sad time. We send our sincere condolences and hold them in our thoughts.
Rest peacefully, Prunella — and thank you for everything you have done to bring hope and happiness to others.
